Believe it or not, this is just north of Los Angeles…Who knew? Yesterday, I went on an impromptu adventure with the BF and we stumbled across some gorgeous scenery very apropos for this festive weekend.
There are so many fantastic barns near Malibu and its canyons were definitely very picturesque. Overall, it took us about 6 hours but we saw everything from sage plants, horses, lakes and even an awe-inspiring Hindu temple, nestled in the middle of the valley.
I was dressed for the occasion, donning my best red, white and blue. There was plenty of sun, fun and stripes and I couldn’t help it but snap a few photos. These pieces are all a few years old, but I they are still some of my favorites. A pair of cutoff shorts, Converse and stripes can certainly go a long way!
Stay tuned for more of this countryside drive, as I found plenty of gems like wineries, country marts and other little restaurants I’ll be going back to check out. Next time you find yourself wanting to go off the beaten path, grab a pal, a car and simply go on a leisurely drive — believe it, it does wonders!
Also, be sure to check me out on snapchat — I created a pretty neat story of all the day’s happenings and many of our pit stop. After a good few months of playing with this uber popular app, I am finally getting the hang of it, though somewhat slowly.
Happy birthday America, you certainly are beautiful.
