The Pen is Mightier than the Look

Perhaps my favorite tee of all time! I wear it all the time and unbashfully so, considering I am a stickler for grammar and often use the hastag #GoodGrammarIsSexy on Twitter and Instagram.

I bought it from a local San Francisco boutique and the creator, Studio Nico, is actually local. I immediately feel in love with how cheeky it and even somewhat irreverent, considering many think fashion is more about images than the written world.

One thing I have learned after two years of blogging is that words are just as powerful as compelling images and the art of storytelling comes in many forms. Who doesn’t love catchy tweets or captions a la Man Repelling or beautiful Pinterest boards? Each convey a message that is often imitated, but never duplicated alas, creating an element of individuality.

Now that you are all fully aware of my love for language — let’s go to the good stuff and by that — I mean the sartorialism! I pared this eponymous shirt with another favorite, my BF cropped jeans. They are easy to wear, comfy and versatile. They work during every season and can be styled with tees (exhibit A), cardigans, blazers, you name it; almost any top.

You know the sunglasses and stack are blog favorites and of course the booties are also hits.

Seriously, this is hands down one of my favorite looks, considering how effortless and fun it is. Oh yeah, and it’s quite the conversation starter considering everyone has a comment about it. Most agree with the shirt’s message, while other simply state how the english language is slowly decaying. Not sure about the latter one, considering it is simple an evolutionary form of speech that reinvents itself every few generations.

Thanks to my amazing gal Sarica Cohen for snapping this pictures during the BG period (that is, before bangs!)
