The Crown Jewels of the Emmys Red Carpet

Last night it was not only the first full day of Fall, but also a celebration in Hollywood. Celebs donned their Sunday best and headed downtown for the Primetime Emmy Awards. As expected, it was indeed a parade of colors, textures, styles and baubles that left even the toughest critics in awe.

I must say that compared to the Oscars, this was a more risque affair and attendees sure weren’t afraid to rock the look. For me, it was all about jewel tones on the carpet, though the ruffles and blush tones were also divine.

Check out some of the ladies that stood out in smashing fall colors.

SarahHylandEmmys

Sarah Hyland in CH Carolina Herrera: Going green pays off! She looks like a movie star and it’s also age appropriate, considering she is in her early 20s. The belt gives it a nice cinching and contrast, and lace is a perfect fall material.

AllisonWilliamsEmmysAlison Williams in Ralph Lauren: The ‘Girls’ star sure looks like an All-American girl. This dress is classic, looks very comfortable and chic. This gal is also repping her Alma Mater ‘Yale,’ as she sported that royal blue with pride.

HeidiKlumEmmys

Heidi Klum in Atelier Versace: Sure, the Project Runway host and über model can pretty much wear a paper bag and look fierce, but this look (straight from the haute couture Paris catwalk) is simply perfection. The color is fantastic, it brings out all of her bodacious parts and it really makes her a glamazon of grandeur proportions.

AlysonHanniganEmmys

Alyson Hannigan in Marchesa: Regal and royal, the sassy redhead dashes in this Marchesa number. I am a fan of the trumpet style dresses, and what really stood out for me is the deep color combination and bold accessories. It all flows so nicely.

SofiaVergaraEmmys

Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang: OK, go check the definition of Va-Va-Voom in the dictionary, and this picture will pop up. Yes, the jeers of those saying ‘mermaid and low cut again’ could be heard over and over, but if you got the curves, there is no need to put on the brakes. I also like her Lorraine Schwartz emeralds and her hair pinned back. And yes, she plugged in her K-Mart knickers too! Gracias totales, Sofia.

TinaFeyEmmys

Tina Fey in Narciso Rodriguez: The funny gal looks like a babe in this cobalt gown that sure accentuates all of her assets. The minimal accessories sure pop with this shade of blue and she simply looks like a red carpet darling. Divine!

So let’s dish, what were some of your favorite looks? Do tell!
