You’ve seen the pictures on Instagram, read the tweets and watched the news reports. No, I am not talking about the latest snow storm sweeping the nation, but another mega event pretty much taking over the social feeds: New York Fashion Week.
Now don’t get it twisted, designers don their best for the catwalk and the creations are often jaw dropping, but when it comes to strutting their stuff, it’s all about the street style stars. These globe trotting fashionistas have a few tricks up their sleeve on how to make an entrance and strike a pose.
Neon Madness: This color combination + classic tailoring and pops of bright is simply divine. I mean a total conversation starter and scene stealer indeed.
Houndstooth Invasion: For those dog-and-pony show loyalists, you know this is one of my favorite prints and well, I guess I have knack for classic styles. The lining on the right coat matching the sweater and collar is simply genius and indeed, like I always say, it’s all in the details.
Black & White FTW: Love the snow contrast with the black and winter whites. This picture truly proves how anyone can R.O.C.K white post Labor Day.
Orange IS the New Black: Another picture filled with pops of color and this sartorialism is after my own heart, considering how this citrus hue is hands down one of my favorite (haven’t you noticed my blog color scheme?)
He’s Looking at you Kid: The forever immortalized line from Casablanca comes to real-life in this sartorialism. And of course, if the lines uttered by Humphrey Bogart can ever be oh, so chic, is with bold colors and accessories to remember. Just admit it, you know you wanna wear that bomber.
Purple Ends, Pearls and Chanel: Between the jacket, Chanel Lego clutch (an obsession of mine for quite some time) ans pearls, I almost didn’t notice her incredible purple tresses, which adds a bit of pizzazz to the whole ensemble. What a way to liven up any winter gloom.
Neutrals Never Hurt Anyone: I mean, this picture is most likely next to the definition of chic on the dictionary, and I have a slight feeling it will also be making the rounds on many more style blogs, Pinterest boards and looks to love pages. A good coat often steals the show, and this case it proves how it ties up a classic, simple outfit to a different stratosphere. This, boys and girls, is how the ‘less is more, effortless look’ is accomplished.
Et voila, my friends — what are some of your favorite NYFW sartorialisms? Anything peeked your interest? I know there is plenty more to chat about and be sure to check for a full on fashion week recap, as I will be posting my favorites from the fab four (New York, London, Milan and Paris) fashion capitals.
