Soaking Up The Last Few Drops of Summer

I am in complete denial Fall is upon us, and well, this may be the last beach post for a bit. I spent most of Labor Day soaking up the sun in Malibu and it was indeed glorious. Though the waves were a bit choppy and the current had a mind of its own, I still managed to get a quick swim, as the temperatures were perfect.

Can I tell you about these amazing J.Crew Factory shorts? I snagged them at the Camarillo Premium Outlets for $13 (yup, you read right) and they are incredibly comfortable. I plan on wearing them quite a bit during the warmer SoCal days and way into next summer, because they are just a fun and loud print to have. Plus, they are perfect for those last-minute warm weather getaways, though I am not sure when I’ll be heading out of town next.

For me, there is something magical about the ocean — I don’t know whether is the sounds of waves crashing, the fresh smell and breeze, or the overall vibe. Since I was very young, I have found it to be soothing and it often helped me calm down, get things into perspective, and dream.

I still till this day use it as therapy, since in many cases after a long stressful day, I find myself sitting down in the sun just letting it all soak in. This particular week has been a bit challenging, since I received some less than stellar news yesterday and need to refocus some of my energy. As I approach my one year ‘LAverssary,’ and the beginning of a new Jewish year, I am taking some time to figure out what’s been successful, what needs improvement, and what must go.

No matter what state of mind I am in, I always find Summer to be good till the last drop!
