So Long NYC! Good Day London. We’ve crossed the pond and Ryzenberg On is doing a mini-recap of my favorite collection from the Fantastic 4 Fashion Weeks (NYC, London, Milan and Paris!)

Here’s one of my favorite designers, Julien McDonald. For this collection, it is very evident that he drew inspiration from the Far East and combined it with very structured shapes that are very wearable and consistent. I love it and would love every piece!

Cheers…

Julien Macdonald Spring 2012
London Fashion Week
September 17, 2011

Julien Macdonald is one of my favourite designers and when London Fashion Week begins, I’m always super excited to see what he has to offer. The collection for Spring 2012 once again does not disappoint. Julien gained inspiration from Japanese art, Chinese pottery and Lalique Crystal Glass. In his designs you can see very fine detailing has been produced which links to those three inspirations.

The looks in this collection were very beautiful and as ever, high impact. The models looked fierce and ready for action as they walked down the catwalk wearing large black sunglasses, black military hats, high platform heels and a whole array of structured dresses, tailored jackets, and tunics over trousers. Julien also played around with different textures and colours, then added a bit of texture to make the piece look more interesting and defined .The prints which reminded me of the Japanese art looked stunning, for example the printed embellished gown with a sheer floor-length skirt would look spectacular down the red carpet. That garment was quite possibly the best look I have seen so far at London Fashion Week.
