Six Cool Los Angeles Shops

Los Angeles is known for a plethora of things — its year-round mild weather, horrendous traffic, and star-studded events. But the one area that La La Land really hits the mark is shopping! No matter what neighborhood you are in (perennially only 20 minutes away from everywhere), there is a new shop worth perusing .

Housewares in West Hollywood and beauty apothecaries on the West Side are calling my name this holiday season. Below are a few of my favorite shops in LA where I’ll most likely be doing a little bit more than just browsing:

Botanica Bazaar (Pacific Palisades)

Inspired by traditional European apothecaries, this new addition to Pacific Palisades is filled with great green beauty favorites such as Moon Juice, Agent Nateur, and The Beauty Chef. Whether you are looking for the perfect gift for your best friend or simply want to treat yourself, this is the place to go for under-the-radar wellness brands from around the globe.

Permanent Vacation (Brentwood)

This Brentwood boutique carries an array of laid-back designers like Natalie Martin, LoveShackFancy, Dodo Bar Or, and other chic brands that will have you booking your next getaway in no time. I bought a few pieces for my honeymoon that already made its way to closet VIP status. The friendly, fun, and honest sales gals won’t let you walk out with a piece you don’t absolutely love!

The Apartment by the Line (West Hollywood)

Featuring a carefully curated roster of ultra-chic designers such as Gabriela Hearst, Erdem, and Cesta Collective, this Melrose Place is a favorite of jet-setters and ultra cool tastemakers. I am pretty sure this is the store that invented the now ubiquitous Instagram caption ‘when can I move in?’

Aesop (Century City)

I know this cult favorite from down under has a few outposts in Los Angeles, but with pastel tiles and well-manicured displays, the Century City location feels like a kiosk spa-on-the go. You can say it most certainly takes pampering to a whole new level of style.

Serena & Lily (Pacific Palisades and Newport Beach)

Known for its clean-yet-coastal flair, this beloved lifestyle brand is finally in Los Angeles. You will find a cozy blanket for the homebody on your list or a cool coffee table book for the serious collector. Doing the entertaining this season? Grab a set of unique napkins, coasters, or glassware to make your dinner table truly stand out. Your guests will be very grateful for it!

Shout and About (Echo Park)

From cute stocking-stuffer trinkets like Earth + Element ceramic dishes and holiday decor from daydream society to Ink + Alloy earrings and holiday cards from The Good Twin, this East Side staple has it all. Plus, everything is beautifully displayed throughout this shop, no wonder it’s a social media favorite, and often visited by design and lifestyle aficionados alike.
