San Francisco is in All of Our Hearts

SFO-Emergency-Landing

I had something completely different planned for today — I mean, it is a long weekend and most of us are prolonging America’s big bash. But something very unexpected happened while I was working with my developer on improving the little dog-and -pony show.

It is not everyday that a huge crash landing occurs; let alone in your city. A Boeing 777 from South Korea with more than 300 people on board caught fire shortly after landing — causing chaos at the airport. Two people are dead, 40 critically injured and nearly 60 unaccounted for.

I fly through SFO dozens of time each year and I am amazed at how quickly and efficiently emergency crews responded. Thank you. You are doing a terrific job. Those doctors at all the different Bay Area hospital like SF General, Stanford, Mills Peninsula and Kaiser are relentlessly treating the victims as there are dozens still missing.

For those directly affected by this ordeal, my heart and prayers go out to you. Please stay strong and always think of the positive outcomes.  As for my fellow newsmen and women working on the field and in newsrooms — keep on going and keep calm. We are here to inform our audiences and everyone is probably scrambling for the latest and details. I send you the best vibes and bravo for the coverage. For those on Twitter, thanks for the updates, as this is where I first got word of the incident.

I am sorry I wasn’t able to post the planned ‘summer weekend sartorialism’ piece I prepared for today, but I want to make today a moment of reflection since there is so much going on in my neck of the woods.

Thanks for reading and please don’t panic — the latest musings and sartoirialisms will be back very soon!
