Ryzenberg On: Travel Like the One Percent

When promoting hotels, some throw lavish parties, while others might invite celebrities or socialites to enjoy its amenities. But when it comes to the Starwood’s Luxury Collection, they enlisted some Hollywood royalty to create a short film featuring three of its most breathtaking U.S. properties — not to mention beautiful people.

Here, which stars model Agyness Deyn, follows a solo traveler who receives three handwritten notes with her itinerary of upscale properties (it includes the Equinox in Vermont, the Phoenician in Arizona and Royal Hawaiian in Honolulu.)  In this Hitchcock inspired short, the lovely Brit channels her inner Tippi Hedren as she travels and explores the locales. 

The notes come from a mysterious jet setter, played by one of my favorite style setters, Waris Ahluwalia. It’s a short filled with mystery, romance and of course luxurious settings.

But this isn’t just a simple production, as some A-listers are involved sophisticated project. The film was conceived by I am Love Director Luca Guadagnino and Academy Award winner and fashion maven Tilda Swinton. Jason Schwartzmann, who stars in more than a handful Wes Anderson films produced the score. 

The film made its debut in NY and it will be available at the hotels and on DVD, which also features additional outtakes. I will for sure make a mental note to remember to search for this little piece of paradise, as I hope it inspires me to do some major traveling this year.
