I guess it is of no surprise that I am longing for warmer, sunnier days despite living in San Francisco and enjoying fog for most of the year.
Alas, I have turned my humble abode into a warm corner filled with color, prints, flowers and knick-knacks. Every so often, I re-organize my night stand, books and little details, so I don’t get bored and then all the goodies get a fair share in the spotlight.
Pillow Talk: The solid pillows have been with me for 5 years and they were originally outdoor furniture. I decided to add the elephants and some fun prints so that spices up my seating area.
Next to me: These are my must-haves when I go to bed and wake up. Pablo Neruda always has the right words for any occasion (whether it is agony or ecstasy) and he often brings smiles and tears to my face.
The vase is actually an Italian syrup container I bought at a local market. As soon as I bought it, I transferred the cherries to another container and added some colorful blooms! That is a fun and original way to score an unexpected (and cheap) find.
Since I am known to be a bit of a scatterbrain, I got my phone a home. That way, my beloved companion doesn’t end up on the fridge, oven or other location unsuitable for such device.
Small Treasures: My aesthetician had this plate in her room and whenever I went for a facial, I’d stare and wonder where she got it (which she’d tell me every time and of course, I’d forget). Needless to say, after years of searching for this coveted piece of decor, I found it at a gift shop and it’s now a staple!
As for the stacks, these are two of my favorites — The Giles and Brother nail and my Stella and Dot Renegade bracelet.
In Bloom: This vase was another fabulous find after I spotted it on a design blog. It can also be used for kitchen tools and even as a water pitcher. Since spring can’t come any sooner, I had to go with yellow blooms and plus I love the way it looks with my turquoise dresser.
Coming soon will be a tour of my beloved nook, the Holy Grail (of course I am talking about le closet) and I will be sharing some simple party ideas.
Enjoy your Friday and perhaps you’ll do some spring cleaning and re-arranging soon.
