Ryzenberg On: Missoni with an Almodovar Twist

This, hands down this is my favorite S/S 2012 campaign. Spanish director Pedro Almodovar brightens everyone’s game, but combine this with some Missoni knits and it’s La Dolce Vita at its finest.

Angela Missoni payed homage to the land of sangria and paella during Milan Fashion Week when models rocked the catwalk in flamenco inspired ensembles. The collection was a hit filled with lively patterns, ruffles and of course gorgeous knits in shades of blues, reds and greens.

The color, feel and vibe these ads, shot by Jurgen Teller, send is divine and has me wanting to go buy an array of zig-zags! (as if I didn’t do enough of that during the Missoni for Target sale)

This combination of quirkiness, ‘ole’ and ‘bellissimo’ is clearly perfection. The ads embody Almodovar to the fullest, as the models feel like characters made famous in his movies such as ‘Volver,’ ‘All About my Mother’ and my personal favorite ’Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,’ who also stars a very young Antonio Banderas. Seriously, this is a must-see flick that will have you craving gaspacho for days!
