Ryzenberg On: Marni S/S 2012 — Milan Fashion Week

Every season, I am happily drawn to the Milan collections. I don’t know if it’s perhaps the fact that I feel they use more colors and a lot of their aesthetics fit my personality. I never really gave Marni a second look — UNTIL now.

Consuelo Castiglioni’s collection left me pleasantly pleased with her use of clean lines yet colorful palette. Love the tailoring of the pieces and how it represents a ‘ladies who lunch’ idea with an aura of sophistication. These pieces work well when combined with denim, shorts and and trousers for a day look, and can also be glammed up for cocktail chic with the right jewelry and accessories.

Perhaps there is an ‘old’ stigma attached to Marni, since it’s not as popular with starlets as other fellow Italian designers, but that’s also because the Marni woman is assertive, successful and doesn’t need paparazzi chasing her every move. She is in fact chic and in touch with herself.

This is a look for women like Michelle Obama, Marissa Meyer and Kate Middleton. Classy women who dominate the power lunches and truly make a difference to change the world.

Overall — Marvelous Marni!
