Ryzenberg On: Macarons & Makeup? Yes, Please

Your makeup box is about to get a little bit sweeter! Famed Parisian macaron Mecca Ladurée is launching a cosmetics line in Japan called, “Les Merveilleuses de Ladurée.”

Ok. I can breathe again. Although the pairing might seem strange, it’s actually brilliant and what I love most about this match made in finger-liking heaven is that my worlds are officially colliding.

The famed tea house will debut the line in February. The collection, created by Albion, features 20 different blush colors in cameo forms and it includes foundations and lip colors. Can’t wait to see what the palettes will look like, but for now, I will continue to satisfy my palate with one (or maybe 8) of these delightful sweets.

So before I read the line will eventually make it stateside, I was ready to book a flight to Tokyo. (Well, not exactly, but a girl can dream) I pictured myself arriving at the Ginza District decked in Comme des Garçons, prepared to fight the Harajuku tweens Kurosawa-style (Samurai sword and all) for one of those coveted compacts.

However, I came to my senses and realized there is not a chance in the world I will be jet setting to Japan. After remembering an old Chinese proverb, ‘He/She who is unemployed does not generate any money,’ I opted to eat edamame instead.

Finally dessert that won’t go straight to your hips.
