Ryzenberg On: Crazy for Karlie Kloss
Life doesn’t get any better than this: Karlie Kloss barely clothed + Vogue Italia spread shot by Steven Meisel = FLAWLESS
Seriously, who doesn’t want to have these set of legs? This is just seriously unreal. And that pout makes anyone melt! Now this is a perfect body, ladies and gentlemen.
Even tough this fashion spread caused a bit of controversy after many complained some of the images encouraged anorexia and were airbrushed too much, I still think the photos are simply sublime.
After all, can anything on the helms of Franca Sozzani be wrong? Didn’t think so.
Let me give you the skinny behind the leggy super creature. Karlie is not a girl from Ipanema or another product of perestroika. (Thanks Mr. Gorbachev for tearing down that wall) In fact, she is as American as apple pie. She was born in the Midwest and discovered at 13 in St. Louis. She signed with Elite in 2007 (shortly after switching to NEXT) and walked dozens of runways during New York, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks in 2008.
Some of the notable campaigns she has done include Dior, Donna Karan, Gap and Topshop — of course, that’s just to name a few! She has also graced the covers of countless magazines including several Vogue editions, Elle, Allure and Vanity Fair.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention she is also the latest addition to the angelic bunch of Victoria’s Secret Angels and she was fierce during the latest show! (Yup, stole this one from Tyra and ANTM)
I guess it wouldn’t be the modeling industry if there wasn’t any controversy. I mean, what would people talk about after all…Personally, she is thin, but I don’t think there is anything scandalous about this images. Of course she is going to be toned; she was a ballerina for years and you can see her muscles are well-defined. There will always be groups that feel this pictures are riske, but it’s art and yes, European editions are a lot more liberal when it comes to showing skin and poses.
Nothing wrong with that, especially because they are very conscious they’ll be making more than a buck from it.
