My Oscar 2016 Picks

Another Academy Awards has passed and Leo finally won! Though I know most of the world will be talking about his win for quite some time, what I really want to discuss here are of course, the fashions. Which of the myriad dresses caught my attention, you ask? Well, most of them have something in common, and that is a low-plunging neckline.

This red carpet was anything shy of showing some decolletage and I enjoyed it (though not for the same reasons a 16-year-old might) because these ladies simply got it right all from all sides. My picks are colorful, fun, youthful, and timeless.

larson

Brie Larson in Gucci: Ms. Larson simply owned night! Not only did she win gold, but she was indeed a vision in this Gucci cobalt blue creation. The V-neck is just divine and the bejeweled belt simply completes the look. Best of all, she kept her accessories to a minimum, so all the attention is well, on the magnificent dress.

theron

Charlize Theron in Christian Dior: The Mad Max star always nails it when it comes to red carpet style, and this time, this red-hot number left me stunned, as she strutted around like the goodness that she is!

ronan

Saorise Ronan in Calvin Klein and Chopard Jewels: I may have a tough time pronouncing her name, but one thing I can say about this look is wowza! I always gravitate towards green, as it is my favorite color, Calvin Klein really got it rights with the cut, the sequins, and silhouette.

mcadams

Rachel McAdams in August Getty Atelier: And staying on the green theme, Regina George is all grown up and I am obsessed with this whole situation. I mean the slit, the train — it’s all perfection and not to mention this hunter green hue!

vikander

Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton: This girl is always spot on when it comes to fashion, as she knows how to accentuate her petite frame. I recently saw her speak at a panel in Hollywood, and though she was dressed casual, she was still flawless. This Louis Vuitton dress is beautiful and really paints hers as the belle of the ball. Though it’s a bit of a risk, I really dig her unorthodox approach to red carpet syle.

robbie

Margot Robbie in Tom Ford: I have been obsessed with this Aussie bombshell for quite some time, since she made my top picks for the second year in a row. This sexy Tom Ford number screams Oscars glamour, and it’s pretty much sex appeal on a stick!

So there it is — my 2016 Oscars roundup! Who were some of your favorite ladies (or gents?) Do tell, do share. Until next time, my dear friends.
