Four Fantastic Spring Trends and One Bootie

I am dedicating today to be a bootie-tastic Thursday, but if you are thinking this is all about the one Beyonce and Sir-mix-A-Lot immortalized in lyrics, think again. Of course, I am talking about the must-have shoe of the season — the bootie — and four ways to combine it with great trends perfect for those dog days of spring and summer.

I visited Los Angeles last month and pretty much wore these Sam Edelman Louie booties everyday with printed denim, neutrals cutoffs and classic blue jeans. They are so versatile and perfect for traveling — especially flying, since they are airport friendly footwear — or just want to give your toes a bit of a cover-up.

Since San Francisco is my home, we don’t have the traditional hot days, so these are perfect when fog decides to make an appearance — it happens more often than none — and those days when the temperature hits 60 in July. Also, these are perfect music festival footwear, ready to tackle the mud and protect you from any pesky turf.

Just as important as the booties, are the details on the accessories used on each look. Here are some of my favorite bags and baubles I combined with these sartorialisms.

What bootie will you sport this summer?
