I know this is a skill for many, but sometimes I have the worst luck finding basic pieces for my wardrobe. I’ve spent endless hours (more that I’d like to admit and accept) in search of a good, reliable and durable pair of denim shorts.
Though I have plenty cutoffs in my closet that are more suitable for the beach, it is now time to get that one pair that can easily transition to evening without being too bootylicious. Also, I am leaning to getting a boyfriend fitting pair that isn’t super tight, as those tend to cut my legs and make them shorter.
After some research on the Interwebs, I found an array of pieces for all budgets, as I slowly re-incorporate pieces that during my San Francisco years were rather unnecessary and stuffed underneath my bed. I am happy to report they all now live happily in my closet and are part of my sartorialims.
I rounded off my top picks from a variety of styles. What’s good about shorts is that they work well on most body frames, as they can be altered or cuffed if they are too long. It’s a bit easier than pants because there are normally one or two fits.
