Years ago, my high school English teacher Mr. Horal assigned the class to write an essay about Juliet’s famous ‘fickle’ description of her beloved Romeo, as interpreted in Act 3, Scene 5 of this tormenting teen love tragedy. Of course, after reading this Shakespearean masterpiece about a dozen times, that act is most likely the epitome of lost love, as a weeping Juliet realizes she can’t live without her beau, and well, we all know what happens next.
I know you are wondering, what does this have to do with today’s sartorialism? What’s this literary diatribe all about? But if there is one thing I’ve learned about life in San Francisco and love respectively, is its unpredictability.
Here is the deal, the City by the Bay is known for having rather uncertain weather that’s just like Romeo and Juliet’s feelings. Considering I’ve dealt with my fair share of Romeo wannabes, I too, understand the ability of how a man’s fickleness can pretty much impact a loving relationship (let’s not get into that, though). So for now, I’ll stick to wearing a scarf, boots and a jacket during the early spring months.
Lesson learned my beloved readers — San Francisco’s weather and men can be just as fickle! Just be prepared to take charge and don’t be caught off-guard.
