It is a birth fit for a king and I am not punning about this one. Yesterday, the world was introduced to the British Monarchy’s newest addition — Baby George Alexander.
This little bundle is the third in line for the British empire’s throne, so you can imagine there were a lot of eyes watching how his parents, Prince William and the ever stylish Kate Middleton, made his public debut.
Journalists camped outside the hospital for days, to be the first to catch a glimpse and for obvious bragging rights. Once England’s most popular pair made an appearance, William and Kate chatted with the press and even made jokes about their first night as parents.
“He’s got her looks, thankfully,” Prince William said about the baby’s appearance. He also added that the boy was big and heavy and both of the new parents had already changed nappies (and I guess that’s how the Brits refer to the diapers).
Now that we have parenthood, looks and diapers aside, we are moving onto the good stuff — what did the Duchess wear? Well, after the Ryzenberg On Investigative Unit did some digging, it found that the baby blue polka-dot frock is from British designer (and sartorial favorite) Jenny Packham.
As for the polka-dots print — many speculate it is a special homage to the Late Princess Diana, who 31 years ago, sported the same print to introduce a baby bundle that became Prince William to the globe.
I am sure one of Peru’s greatest imports, Mr. Testino will have something to do with some the baby G’s pictures. He is a favorite of the young royal couple, and even photographed their engagement. But more importantly, he was a good friend of Diana.
What a difference 31 years make — both women kept calm and delivered baby and 24 hours later, looked ravishing! I can’t help it but think how much William resembles Princess Di and even Kate has some of her mannerisms. Prince Charles is not known to stand out on the looks department, but his dry wit and poise will sure have a strong impact on Baby C.
I guess the House of Hanover is the Grimaldi Family of the millennium, and Kate might well be our version of Princess Grace (sans Hermes bag named after her and Oscar win).

I am so excited for the royal family! I was misty eyed when they descended the steps with the swaddled baby to greet the public and am wild about their matching outfits. So understated and natural (even with professional hair and makeup)… Kate does not disappoint!
