Bastille Day Explorations in the Mission

It was a different kind of ‘Bastille Day.’ Instead of feeling Parisian and eating crepes, I strolled through the Mission District with two of my favorite blogger gals, Eli from Thrift Eye and Nic from Manners and Moxie.

We brunched at Luna Park in Valencia and spent the afternoon in the sun walking around Dolores Street, window shopping  vintage and antique shops and staring at the murals on Clarion Alley. It was a much-needed afternoon of girl talk, photo snapping and simply enjoying the day.

What I love most about the Mission District is its eclectic style and diversity. It is filled with little ‘bodegas,’ delicious restaurants and fantastic street art! Be on the lookout for some local gems, as this ‘hood is filled with little treasures on every corner.

Though my sartorialisms aren’t exactly Parisian, between the stripes, white pants and light jacket, I still felt very Saint Tropez. Hope you all enjoyed your Sunday Funday!

Too hot for teacher: How Gorgeous is Eli?!? She also happens to be a very fashionable librarian!

Street Art Specials: Nestled between Mission and Valencia Streets on Clarion Alley, these murals are actually better than some art museums. They are colorful, strong and with a message. These elephants take me on a South East Asia adventure. They change every few months, so be sure to visit often.

Brunching Time: Luna Park is known for its brunches, libations and decadent dishes. There might be a bit of a wait, but it’s well-worth it. My personal favorite, you ask? Their goat cheese fondue with pears and toast! Y-U-M!
