When Amy came to visit me earlier this Summer, it was my turn to show off, and I knew this crown jewel was certainly going to hit the spot. This iconic place, home to the uber popular Polo Lounge, a magnificent La Prairie spa, an unforgettable pool, and its Martinique palm trees wall paper epitomizes timeless California style.
Though I have spent time here before, each visit is special, as I discover something new. This time, It was all about the outdoor gardens, and even a cute little courtyard lined with palm trees and looking pretty in pink, which leads the way to the bungalows. I spent the morning catching up at the Cabana Cafe, while we enjoyed a delicious breakfast which consisted of eggs Benedict, French toast, and lots of laughs.
I have never checked out (or in for that matter) to one of their rooms, but I hope to someday be able to enjoy what the experience is like, because in my head, it’s all about luxury, decadence, and indulgence.
Having been around since Hollywood’s Golden Era, you know if these walls could talk, they’d most likely spill some juicy secrets. From celebs and dignitaries to Oscar celebrations a la Faye Dunaway, this place is chock full of legacy — and splendor!
Of course, when touring such locale, one must look the part. I opted for a fun Eberjey sundress that serves as beach cover up and dress, so you can imagine that it’s been put to good use. I completed the look with a pair of cork nude sandals and a hat, because it’s all about sun protection when playing outside.
One of the many special things about Los Angeles is how much it has to offer, and playing tourist in my backyard is becoming quite a weekend ritual.
