Acts of Love with Alexis Farah

Fact: I do not believe in resolutions. I want to lose weight and be fit pretty much all year, and I believe in living life to the fullest. There are areas that need improvement in my life, but simply making a yearly resolution, per se, is unlikely  to help me be fulfilled.

I would rather act on these areas that I believe I need to improve. I plan to be more mindful about helping out and empowering others, whether it is by promoting or attending upcoming events, or becoming more philanthropic in general. There are beautiful people around me that inspire me to get out and make an impact in the community.

One of those people is Alexis Farah of  the blog Random Acts of Lipstick. Late last year, she put together a beautiful event at Saulino Smith Salon in Santa Monica which benefited ‘Locks of Love,’ an organization that donates hairpieces to children with medical hair loss across the U.S. and Canada. Typically, cuts and styles at Saulino Salon cost around $15o, but this event allowed women to donate their locks and also get a beautiful haircut free of charge.

At the end of the day, more than 15 ponytails made their way to Locks of Love, and the event was filled with fearless women who embrace a makeover. I look forward to taking part in more events like this, and Alexis is a beautiful person whose mission is to empower, and raise awareness about issues such as self-esteem, self-care, and volunteerism.
